Autumn Treasures

I havent' posted in a very long time...I'm taking a little break from making dolls and spent the past month or so making myself several tote bags. I don't usually sew for myself. This weekend's crafting project was needle felting these tiny little pumpkins and acorns. I've been admiring them on etsy and decided to make a few for myslef...they are so cute! The acorn tops are from my yard, the double one(tiny brown one in front) is my favorite....there are a couple of white pumpkins in the works but my needles broke...I think my wrist needs a little rest too...lol
The weather is turning colder here, we've had the wood stove going for a few days now....looks like Winter is on it's way...for now I'm enjoying the brisk Autumn air....thanks for visiting...

Handmade tote!

I've been wanting to make myself a tote bag/purse for a long, long time and have never had the nerve or time to do it...until today! I was at Joann's browsing around and came across this awesome polka dot fabric in the remnant bin. I Love polka dots.....I immediately envisioned a cute tote; poking thru the bin some more, I came across a coordinating stripe. Both pieces cost under $6! My mind started racing...what else would I need to make a simple purse?? I found some magnetic snaps and was on my way....I searched the internet when I got home and found a great blog with a super easy pattern.
http://www.skiptomylou.org/. It's filled with loads of fun ideas and patterns with easy to follow instructions! I printed out the instructions on how to make a simple, reversible tote bag and around 2 hours later, here it is!! I changed the shape of the tote in the instructions and added the snap with the help of another internet search.

I'm already planning on making a matching zippered pouch from the same site. I have the instructions all printed and just need to purchase a zipper.

I think the next bag I make may have 2 fabrics on the outside and I'll definately look into adding interfacing to stiffen the bag.....I hope you get a minute to check out this blog, it's has some great ideas! If you visit, click the 'sewing' link on the left side to find this great pattern and others~
Happy Saturday~

She's 16" tall with a pretty yellow dress and slip. She's $38 including postage also. Please contact me if you'd like details or to make a purchase...Thanks for visiting.....Nancy

Finally, time to post....and new Annies!

*Sold-Thank you!*
*Sold-Thank you!*
It's been a long time since I've posted anything...I finally had some time to take a few pictures of my flowers starting to bloom...I love this time of year. Everything is new again...the flowers and grass look renewed from the long winter. Here are a few pictures of my flowers just starting to bloom...I can't wait for the popies and flowers to open! The ants love the popies, and as much as I want to shoo them off, I've heard that they have to wander onto the buds to help them open! I managed to get a couple of Buddy our dog too...he's camera shy and never looks directly into the lens, so I was thrilled to get these shots of him!LOL
I have 2 dolls finished too....Watermelon Annie is 16" tall and Spring Bee Annie is 15" tall. You can click on their pictures to see close-up. They're $38 each which includes priority shipping. Please contact me by clicking on the link above if you'd like more details or to make a purchase....

Easter & Everyday Annies!

Sold-Thank you!
Sold-Thank you!
Sold - thank you!
I finished up some new annies this week...in between working and re-doing the playroom, it's been a very welcome break! We had a flood in the basement at the end of January and had to tear up the boys playroom. We're slowly putting it back together with painting and new carpeting. I'll be finishing the painting this weekend and hopefully the carpet will be installed by the end of the week! I'm very excited to see it finished! We're going to see Martina McBride and Trace Adkins tomorrow night, it will be a fun way to end the weekend! I'm not a huge country music fan, but my husband is...I'm looking forward to seeing Martina and love her song 'This One's for the Girls'!

I made some Easter annies in pretty pastel dresses with whimiscal themed borders. They're both 18" tall and are $43 each. Everyday, Spring annie is dressed in the sweetest print with bumble bees and dandylion puffs...the whispy balls that blow around with the wind....she's  almost 17" tall and is $38. Tiny 'my dolly' annie is dressed in primitive burgundy and tan homespuns. She's 12" tall and is $19. Prices include priority mail shipping to the U.S., payment with paypal. Please contact me if you'd like details or to make a purchase.
Thanks very much for visiting....enjoy the weekend! Nancy

Happy Birthday and Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine's Day...I hope you spent the day with loved ones~

Yesterday was my twin's 15th birthday! We celebrated by going out to dinner at The Texas Roadhouse, there was an hour wait so we walked to Target....the boys picked out a video game...Dinner was fun, we teased the boys that we were going to announce their birthday and have the servers sing to them...the horror on their faces was funny! They were so full we didn't even have cake until today!LOL Today they had an XBox party with their friends. It's amazing how much 8 teenage boys can eat!

I took some time today to finish up a couple of new annies. They're just over 17" and have cute Spring time dresses on. Please contact me if you'd like details on either.

Enjoy the rest of the day and thanks for visiting~Nancy
