Chalk Paint Project

I've been away from blogging for years, I haven't sewn in quite some time, we've been busy updating the house and doing a lot of painting. I'll post some pictures soon.
I just updated my antique sideboard yesterday with chalk paint. I like the way it turned out, it's a little darker in person. This was my first project with chalk paint, it's definitely different than regular paint. I thought it would be easier than traditional paint. I searched Pinterest and the internet for weeks before starting this but it didn't turn out quite like I expected.  I'll definitely use it again and do a few things differently. I have a dresser in mind that could use some updating.
Thanks for stopping by, Nancy

Pretty Pincushion

I found this pincushion pattern while meandering thru the wonderful pages of etsy the other day. I loved the look of it and the colors the designer used and just had to have the pattern. I already knew what fabrics I would use when I purchased the pattern...it's from Designs by Des on etsy. I bought some wonderful fabrics yesterday and hope to get a few made this weekend!
Enjoy your day! Thanks for visiting, Nancy

Cross Stitch Annies

I haven't cross stitched anything in years but it was one of my first crafting passions. I used to spend hours upon hours cross stitching. Here is a picture of one of the first things I made; It's been on my walls in various houses for over 25 years and I still love it. It's a 16x20 frame with a country alphabet and quilt, very 80's but I love it!
Update: Both Annie's have been sold - Thank you!
I finished up 2 Annies today, I went back to my more primitive roots with these 2...they have crows, sheep and prim birds on their dresses. I thought little cross stitch pillow pins would look nice on their dresses. I stitched them up from patterns I found on 'Primitive Betty's' blog (link is to the right). My eyes aren't what they used to be so I definitely needed the reading glasses for these! Both Annies are 18" tall and made from prim stained muslin. They each have matching homespun bloomers that coordinate with their dresses. They have curly wool hair from primgal (link on the right). Their little cross stitch pillows are pinned to their dresses, I aged and primed them with cinnamon then baked them for a time worn and aged look. Blue annie has brown hair and tiny buttons stitched on for eyes, Green annie has prim burgundy red hair and a painted face. Annies are made to either sit or hang and come signed and dated. Please contact me at primdolls1@charter.net if you have any questions or would like additional details.
Thanks so much for visiting, Happy Sunday! Nancy

Pink Annies

Update: Both annies are sold - thank you!
I finished these 2 Pink Annies today, I love pink...I guess that's why I make so many pink annies! I love how these turned out...They are both 18" tall and made from stained muslin. I made their dresses from pink calico cottons. I added coordinating ric rac at the neck of their dresses. Pink and yellow annie has light green bloomers, Pink and black Annie's dress and bloomers are made from the same cotton. They have curly pink hair from 'primgal' stitched to the seam of their heads with bows stitched on. They are made to either sit or hang and are for decorative purposes only.
Please contact me at primdolls1@charter.net if you would like more details. (all the other annies posted on my blog have been sold, thank you)

4 New Spring Time Annies

I have been working on these sweet annies this week. I love how they turned out, the colors remind me of Spring flowers, which should be coming very soon! I made each from primitive stained muslin, I painted their faces and stitched tiny buttons on for eyes. They have curly wool hair from 'primgal' on ebay. All are 19" tall and have dresses and bloomers stitched up from pretty calico cottons. I added coordinating floral tags to each. They are listed on eBay, please click the link above to visit my auctions. Please contact me at primdolls1@charter.net if you would like details on any. Thanks for visiting...Happy Easter...Nancy
